2.   Budget 2014 : Government commits to corporation tax rate, encouraging new business

Minister for finance Michael Noonan’s budget had some interesting news for the tech sector. The minister committed to keeping the 12.5% corporation tax rate, announced an additional CGT relief and a two year income tax exemption under the new Start Your Own Business scheme.

5.   €600 savings on offer in health cover price war

Families could save up to €600 a year as a price war breaks out between health insurers. The insurers have launched 19 new “corporate” health insurance plans which are available to all customers.
