Irish businesses are losing out on their share of the online market because their websites and technology are not up to scratch. Of the €4bn spent online by Irish shoppers last year, three quarters of this went out of the country, with only 60 percent of Irish small business have a website.

5.   Small Firms Association calls for creation of bank for entrepreneurs.

Chairman of the Small Firms Association, AJ Noonan, has called for the Government to establish a State bank to help small firms’ access credit. Noonan says that the departure of the Troika and the closure of Danske Bank immediately after the closure of ACC Bank could result in difficulty for small business in getting the credit needed for Working Capital and investment.
