1.   €43 million collected from dormant accounts this year

Figures released by the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government show that there has been a steady increase in the amounts transferred from accounts into the Dormant Accounts Fund over the last three years. There has already been €43 million collected from dormant accounts this year.

4.Bank of Ireland moving closer to profitability, says Boucher

A small bit of good news from the banking sector, last week Bank of Ireland announced an operating profit before impairment of €380 million. This compares with €37 million in the same period last year. The bank also claims to be actively working with challenged mortgage holders and SME customers to provide sustainable restructuring of their loans.

5.Just 11% of SMEs are satisfied with Government

A recent survey by the Sunday Independent shows that satisfaction among SMEs with the Irish Government has plummeted over the last 12 months, with the main area of dissatisfaction being a perception of poor performance on creating and supporting employment.
